Designer & Marketing Assistant (Freelance/Remote)

We are seeking a motivated and talented Junior to Mid-weight Designer & Marketing Assistant to join our team on a freelance basis, starting in January 2024. This is an excellent opportunity to work with an award-winning agency and collaborate on a range of design and marketing projects. As a key bee, you’ll support our Creative Director and help shape the visual identity of our clients, ensure that branding is consistent, contribute to marketing efforts across various platforms, and may also be involved in content creation and website related tasks.

Design Diva:

  • Assist in saving logo and brand assets and create Brand Guidelines documents

  • Interpret brands and apply them consistently to various collateral items such as business cards, signage, and social media templates.

  • Set up Canva Brand Kits and design custom Canva templates.

  • Publish and layout design for magazines, long-form documents, and reports.

  • Opportunity for logo and brand design work, illustration and more complex design tasks based on experience and skills.


Marketing Magic & Content Alchemy:

You’ll need to understand and interpret an overall marketing strategy, content plan, brand visuals, and brand tone of voice so you can…

  • Copywriting – Craft engaging social media captions and emails

  • Digital content creation including social media visuals, EDMS, Meta, and Google Ads

  • Schedule social media content via scheduling tools

  • Experience in paid ads campaign management is an advantage


Other Possible Tasks:

  • Perform non-technical WordPress maintenance tasks, including plugin updates and security checks.

  • If you happen to be a WordPress developer, we may have additional overflow work for you.

  • If you also have rad admin skills and are in fact a unicorn, where have you been all our lives?


Dual Role Consideration: It is possible that the above tasks may be split between two candidates. We want you to do work you LOVE and are AMAZING at, so if only half of the above skills apply, and you think the rest sounds awesome, go ahead and throw your hat in the ring.


Requirements:

  • You possess kick-ass creativity, attention to detail, are organised, and have a sense of humour.

  • Hold an Australian Business Number (ABN).

  • Be based in Australia.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience doing similar work.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop as well as Canva.

  • Knowledge of WordPress and Elementor is beneficial.

  • Living in the Northern Rivers is a bonus (for occasional hangouts), but not essential.


Work Hours: The hours for this role are flexible and negotiable, suitable for those looking for freelance opportunities starting in January 2024. Expect between 5 and 10 hours per week to begin with and more once settled in.

Rate Card: Expression of Interest (EOI) submissions should include a rate card or indication of your standard hourly rate.
